Full-Time Position (2027/2028 Start): CEO-ship Track—Strategy & Operations (Experienced)

Course

CEO-ship Track—Strategy & Operations (Experienced)

This course is designed for people who will be involved in executive decision-making at an operating company within the Recruit Holdings group, handling everything from strategy development to execution.

It is intended for people who have foundational skills such as strategic thinking, data analysis, corporate finance, and an understanding of new technologies, and who can make an impact on a stage close to management from the day they join.

Across a wide range of businesses, you will tackle issues tied to management decisions worth tens of billions of yen. We expect you to learn and break new ground on your own and to deliver high-level results.

Depending on your results, you will have opportunities, from your twenties, to lead a business strategy you designed yourself as the person in charge, or to be directly involved in business investment decisions as a right hand to the executive team.

By facing large-scale business challenges and working beyond the boundaries of roles and functions such as sales, marketing, finance, and product, you will develop a horizontal, entrepreneurial perspective.

Examples of Strategic Themes

  • AI × Strategy: Go beyond desk-based strategy planning by validating prototypes of new products, checking market reactions, and turning technology into management issues
  • Prioritizing business investments: Advise the executive team on which businesses and products to invest in, managing and optimally allocating an investment portfolio tied to management decisions worth tens of billions of yen
  • Cross-business strategy: Consider and drive Recruit's growth strategy across a wide range of businesses, including beauty, dining, travel, and housing (e.g., GMV-linked models)
  • Transforming existing businesses: With the balance of a business executive, pursue short-term revenue while leading the transformation that keeps existing businesses winning over the medium to long term

Career Path Example

Year 1: Worked in sales in the Education business area, covering about 60 private and public high schools in Tokyo.

Years 2–3: In the corporate planning division, handled business revenue and cost management as FP&A for the automotive business area. Built a deep understanding of management figures through FP&A, as well as of the structure of the business area.

Year 4: Worked on product management for the Marriage & Family business area, including designing a strategy for moving products from print magazines to the web.

Year 5: In the business strategy division, worked on business promotion and business strategy planning, and drove product planning that makes use of customer and client touchpoints in each area.

Year 6 onward: Appointed Vice President in the strategy division. Led strategy planning and execution for Recruit's company-wide mid-term priority themes, supporting growth acceleration with management and businesses working as one.

You'll Be a Great Fit If You

  • Want to be involved in management decisions worth tens of billions of yen from your twenties, and to stand where decisions that move the world are made
  • Want to take on business model transformation using AI and data
  • Want to work with major responsibility from your twenties and thirties, with the perspective of a business leader rather than someone merely close to management
  • Want to be involved end to end, from concrete implementation through validation, not just abstract strategy planning
  • Believe that knowing the front line matters most, and can derive initiatives from the voices of customers and clients
  • Want to find the phase you do best in, after experiencing 0→1, 1→10, and 10→100

Specifically, people like the following:

  • Want to be involved in the growth strategies of multiple business units across business areas and contribute to portfolio optimization
  • Want to lead proposals and decision support for senior management by combining qualitative hypotheses with quantitative facts
  • Want to carefully pick up on frontline pain points, carry out improvements, and take responsibility for the results
  • Want to keep updating the value Recruit provides in a global competitive environment

What We Expect From You

You will lead the process from identifying customer problems to forming hypotheses, validating prototypes, and making proposals for management decisions. By combining data and business, you will present multiple strategic options for management to choose from, and support the execution of growth strategies.

We value a "get to know the front line" attitude. You will gather qualitative and quantitative primary information yourself, draw bold hypotheses unconstrained by assumptions, and take them all the way to concrete initiatives. We are also looking for people who can check on site how their proposals work at the execution stage and keep improving them.
