Application Deadline Tuesday, November 24, 2026, 13:00 JST

Program Overview

This program is a highly-selective, full-time program for exceptional talents who aim to create impact on a global scale—beyond any single country or market, designed with future career opportunities in mind.

This program is built to maximize your unique growth, where your team, role, and mission will be tailored based on your strengths, experiences, and ambitions.

You will have the opportunity to work alongside exceptionally smart, mission-driven colleagues and mentors across Japan and the U.S. who will challenge your thinking and tackle real-world business challenges collaboratively.

Japan-US Experience

This internship will immerse you in two of the world's most dynamic business and tech landscapes —Tokyo, Japan and in the U.S. Your internship runs for about 2 to 3 months in total, starting at Recruit’s headquarters in Tokyo and continuing at Indeed offices in the U.S. (tailored to your schedule).

  1. Japan Tokyo HQ Office
  2. U.S. Indeed Office locations

What We Promise

  1. A mission designed around you

Your mission starts with you: your strengths, experiences, interests, and ambitions. We connect those with a real business challenge and design the scope and responsibilities around where you can create the most value. Because every mission is tailored, the exact theme is not predetermined at the application stage.

  2. A team built around your challenge

We don't just design a mission around you. We bring the right people around it. A Main Mentor anchors the experience, with input from Product, Business & Strategy, HR, and U.S./Indeed teams as relevant to the mission. Recruit invests real time and expertise in each participant's challenge, bringing in executives when the work calls for it.

  3. Real ownership in real business

You'll take meaningful ownership of a real business challenge—not a simulated case. Depending on the mission, you may move from problem definition and hypothesis-building through validation, decision-making, and output or implementation, using real customer and business context along the way. The exact scope varies, but the work is designed for you to own what matters end to end.

  4. Scale without boundaries

Use the scale of Recruit Group without being confined by a single function, organization, or market. Depending on the challenge, you may draw on real customers, data, business assets, and perspectives across Technology, Product, Business, and Strategy—and across Recruit and Indeed, Japan and the U.S.

What We Expect

You'll Be a Great Fit If You

  • Self-Driven Execution: Driven to test your skills and deliver results independently, without relying on hand-holding
  • Real-World Problem Solving: Eager to identify and solve real business/societal challenges, rather than working on simulated exercises or training cases
  • Global Impact: Ambitious about building high-impact solutions that meaningfully improve lives worldwide
  1. Own the problem, not just the task

We expect you to take responsibility for the problem, not wait for a task list. Ask what really matters, identify what is missing, and decide what to do next.

  2. Turn expertise into impact

Bring depth in your field—and connect it to outcomes that matter. Use your expertise to influence customer value, business decisions, products, or real-world impact, rather than stopping at a technically strong answer.

  3. Expand your scope

Expand your scope when the problem requires it. Bring in the people, data, customers, and business assets you need, and use them to create more impact than you could alone.

  4. Seek feedback. Change your mind.

Actively seek feedback from people with different perspectives. Test your assumptions against evidence, and be willing to change your mind and your next action when the facts call for it.

From Application to Placement

Your placement isn’t decided when you apply. We don’t promise a team or a role at the application stage, because we design each internship around you, not the other way around.

After selection, we start Matching Discussions with you (from March 2027*). We listen to your interests, strengths, and the direction you want to grow, and use those conversations to shape the Position, the Mission, and the team around you. The internship then begins (around June–August 2027*).

  1. Application / Selection
  2. Matching Discussion — from March 2027*
  3. Position Design / Matching
  4. Internship — around June–August 2027*

*Timing is tentative and subject to change.

Case · 2026

What This Looked Like in 2026

The 2026 program was run as an approximately 12-week program spanning Japan and the U.S., tailored around the participant's background and interests. The program included client interviews, midterm presentations, user validation, and feedback from Product, Business & Strategy, HR, and U.S.-side mentors. A final presentation to senior leadership was held. This is one example of how this program can be designed, not a template for future missions.

How we match

  1. Initial conversation (HR): We learned what the participant wanted to take on, their interests and strengths, what motivates them, and their career vision.
  2. Matching Discussion: The participant spoke directly with the Board Members of Recruit and Indeed, and a Senior Vice President (SVP). Mentor candidates also joined conversations about the business and career, to shape what the internship should be together.
  3. Theme and team: Set based on these conversations.
